Optimist Open Meeting – 17th September 2017


The Event Directors and Officers of WKSC hope that your helms are looking forward to sailing at WKSC next weekend.

Here is some information that you may find helpful.


Attached is an accommodation list for those sailing at both events.

WKSC Optimist Accomodation Lists


Please park and unload roof racks on South Parade road. This is the one way road that runs parallel to the Marine Lake.

There is additional free parking on Banks Road and Hilbre Road.

For those with trailers the parking marshals will indicate the area to unhitch your trailers. This will be on the lake apron against the sandstone wall. Please do not park any cars on the apron.


Registration will be in the main room and will be open at 8am on Saturday morning and 7.30am on Sunday.

There will be a tally in operation on the Sunday.


A simple breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday and a BBQ will be served on Saturday at 5pm. Registration desk will have tickets and more details.

There are many additional food outlets within 400yds of the club.


The PRO for Saturday is Adam Whittle. The PRO for Sunday is Chris Hoppins.



These are attached and additional SI’s will be available on the day. Please note that the first warning on Sunday will be at 9am. Please arrive early enough to be rigged and ready for the briefing from the PRO at 8.30 am.

There will be a prize giving on each day. The Saturday will see the Cannon Trophy awarded and the Sunday will see the Reemwood Trophy awarded. There will be additional kit prizes from Rooster as well.


If conditions and equipment allow there will be a launch docking at the jetty that will take parents to view the race area. If you wish to do this please bring buoyancy  aids and appropriate kit.
