Coronavirus – COVID 19

Update

On Saturday 31 October, the Prime Minister announced that England was to go into a second lockdown from Thursday 5 November until at least Wednesday 2 December.

This will have a significant impact on the services we can offer.

Bar and galley facilities

As from Thursday 5 November, the bar will close until further notice as take away alcohol is not permitted.

The galley will still be able to serve takeaway food and this will be available every Wednesday and Friday evenings with weekly menus and a booking system in the newsletter each Tuesday.

On Wednesday 4 November, the bar and galley will be open from 17.00 – 22.00. We will be offering a Pie and a Pint for £10 – please email adam.whittle@wksc.org.uk if you would like to book in.

There will be reduced prices on certain drinks that will be going out of date during the lockdown. You will also be able to take drinks away with you on Wednesday evening only. If you would like to buy beer to take away, please bring an empty milk carton or something similar so that the liquid can be accurately measured.

A takeaway food menu for Friday will be published in the newsletter tomorrow (3 November).

Sue Capper will remain working from the office, however the Clubhouse will be locked to members. If members are working on their boats in the yard, toilet facilities can be accessed through the MPB.

Boatsheds / Boatyard

The sheds and yard can remain open. However, we ask that:

⦁ Social distancing is maintained at all times
⦁ Masks are worn when inside
⦁ The Boatman’s office is out of bounds to members

Marine lake

We understand from Wirral Borough Council (WBC) that the lake will close on Thursday 5 November. This obviously curtails the Frostbite series that is currently underway. We are unsure when the lake will re-open, but we will continue to liaise with the RYA and WBC and update members with any developments.

The Flag Officers will be happy to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you have about us operating in this way.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
